About Me!
Hi! My name is Kaylee and I’m an actor born, raised, and currently based in Hagerstown, Maryland. I recently received my BFA in Musical Theatre from SUNY Cortland!
I can’t remember a time in my life that hasn’t included the arts. I started dance classes when I was itty bitty and performed show stopping ballads (Hannah Montana songs) for quite literally anyone who would listen. My family would take me to see shows at a local dinner theater and I remember wishing that I could be just like those actors when I grew up.
Fast forward a few years and I was accepted into Barbara Ingram School for the Arts with a Musical Theatre major which is where I truly fell in love with musical theatre. Attending a high school so immersed in the arts truly shaped me into the human that I am today.
While earning my BFA I also found a love and passion for costuming! Some of my favorite college memories are working in the costume shop. I costumed my first show by myself straight out of college at SoHo Playhouse!
I love theatre because of the connections it breeds. There’s something so special about a group of people congregating to share a story of human existence. I pride myself on being a positive light in the room. Creating anything is vulnerable and sometimes humbling, but I love that no matter what happens I always leave with a new friend.
You can find me doing many different things when I’m not in theatre land. I am a huge cinephile (I love a good horror movie) and am often found at 7 dollar movie Tuesdays. I’m a very crafty gal, I’ve taught myself how to sew, embroider, crochet, knit, make jewelry, and much more! If all else fails I’m probably frolicking in a field and being very whimsical!
